Three methods for repairing scratches on the surface of terrazzo prefabricated panels:
Mild scratch repair:
Tools and materials: Water sandpaper (from low grit to high grit, such as 320 #, 400 #, 800 #, 1000 #, 2000 #, 3000 #), scouring pad, polishing ointment.
Operation steps:
Use sandpaper to gradually polish the scratch area from low grit to high grit. When polishing, the action should be light and gentle to avoid excessive force causing new damage.
After polishing, clean the surface with a scouring pad to remove the powder and impurities generated by polishing.
Finally, apply polishing ointment to increase the brightness of the stone and make the repaired area consistent with the surrounding surface.
Moderate scratch repair:
Tools and materials: professional polishing machine, water grinding discs with different mesh sizes (such as 300 #, 500 #, 800 #, 1000 #, 1500 #, 3000 #), clean water, water absorbing machine.
Operation steps:
Use a professional polishing machine in conjunction with a low grit (such as 300 #) water grinder to polish the scratched area with water, removing deeper scratches and damage layers. During the polishing process, it is necessary to maintain sufficient water supply to keep the ground moist and prevent the heat generated by polishing from causing secondary damage to the terrazzo. A water suction machine should be used to promptly remove the sewage and prevent secondary pollution of the ground.
Replace the higher grit water grinding discs (such as 500 #, 800 #, 1000 #, 1500 #, 3000 #) one by one and polish them one by one. After each replacement of the grinding disc, the ground should be washed clean and drained of water to check the polishing effect and ensure that the marks left by the previous level of grinding disc are completely eliminated.

After multiple grinding steps, the scratches on the ground are basically eliminated, and the surface smoothness and glossiness are improved.
Deep scratch or fracture repair:
Tools and materials: marble adhesive, color powder similar to terrazzo, sandpaper, angle grinder, diamond grinding disc, polishing machine, polishing pad.
Operation steps:
Fracture cleaning: First, clean the fracture area, remove impurities, dust, and loose parts from the surface, and make the repaired area flat and clean.
Mixing marble adhesive: According to the color of the terrazzo, mix the marble adhesive with an appropriate amount of color powder to make the mixed color as consistent as possible with the surface color of the terrazzo prefabricated board.
Fill the fracture: evenly fill the prepared marble adhesive at the fracture, use tools to compact and smooth the marble adhesive, ensuring that the filling is full and flush with the surrounding surface. During the filling process, attention should be paid to eliminating bubbles and avoiding the occurrence of hollowing.

Curing and Polishing: Wait for the marble adhesive to fully cure (the curing time is determined according to the instructions of the marble adhesive), use an angle grinder with a diamond grinding disc to preliminarily polish the filling area, remove excess marble adhesive, and make the surface basically flat. Then use sandpaper of different grit sizes (such as 240 #, 400 #, 600 #, 800 #, 1000 #, etc.) in sequence for fine polishing, so that the filling area is consistent with the flatness of the surrounding surface.
Polishing treatment: Use a polishing machine with a polishing pad and an appropriate amount of polishing agent to polish the repaired area, restoring the surface luster to the same effect as the surrounding terrazzo prefabricated board surface.
